Surrey Golf Bridge Tournament (2001)The Garfitt Clowes Cup ![]() Your ex-chairman Mike Hill achieved a lifetime's ambition when he got a 'hole in one' on the par 3, 204 yard 16th hole at Tyrrells Wood Golf Club on 19th April 2001.He used a 3 wood. This feat cost Mike a few bob on drinks for all! As holder of the trophy from last year, Mike was playing with another 'dual' London member Mike Clack. In spite of 5 stableford points on this hole alone, the two Mikes failed to hang on to their title. The highest placed London player was Roger Morton playing with Surrey partner Pam Cox. They won the bridge after a recount by a narrow margin but with only an 'average'score in the golf, they finished 3rd overall. Freddie Della-Porta
