Ian Payn
(Chairman & Selector)
Formerly Chairman of the Young Chelsea Bridge Club and now a member of the EBU Board, Ian will continue as the county selector, in tandem with the two non-committee selectors Brian Callaghan and Tom Townsend.
Chris Duckworth (Secretary, Newsletter Editor, Youth Officer)
Indefatigable, Chris continues her voluntary work, not only on the LMBA committee, but also on that of the Young Chelsea. She is one of London’s two EBU shareholders.
Now retired from academia, Sati has taken on and conquered the task of Treasurer, and with assistance from Steve Eginton has clarified the LMBA’s financial position.
Roger Morton (Membership Secretary & Webmaster)
Brass band member Roger also finds time to run the London membership, a particularly onerous task over the last couple of years with the advent of P2P. He also keeps the web site up-to-date.
And in alphabetical order...
Susie is on the bridge committee of the Hurlingham Club, and was an EBU shareholder fot London until the allocation was reduced from three to two.
Steve is a long-standing member of the committee and former Treasurer, whose knowledge of procedure is invaluable.
Doyen of Woodberry Bridge Club, Nigel is one of the committee’s more prolific tournament organisers.
Mike Hill stepped down from the County Chair at the last AGM, ending his second run in the role. Also previously editor of the newsletter, he continues on the committee using his vast wealth of experience in an advisory capacity. He is also Treasurer of the EBU.
An actor and writer, Kit teaches bridge, and assists James Smith as Publicity Officer.
Dave Muller is the proprietor of a bridge club in North London, and has experience of administration at local and national level.
Ned teaches bridge and runs successful bridge clubs. His input on what, in his experience, bridge players want, is invaluable to the LMBA.
An American long resident in North London, Stefanie’s primary role on the LMBA committee is organising the Lederer Trophy, both inviting the teams and the running of the event itself.
James Smith
Actor James is not only the LMBA’s Publicity Officer, but also one of London’s EBU shareholders.
Last but by no means least, Bernard continues to honour us by serving as President. His welcome sponsorship of the Lederer aside, he still continues to play and succeed at the highest levels.
SELECTORS The LMBA has two independent selectors, who liaise with the Chairman.
Both Brian and Tom enjoy the finest reputation at the table, and each is committed to fielding the best teams possible for London
