PICCADILLY CUP RULES
- All Piccadilly Cup matches will be played in strict accordance with: (a) the ‘Laws of Duplicate Bridge 1997’, (b) the EBU ‘White Book’ of Regulations and Directives, (c) the ‘LMBA Regulations for Matches Played Privately’ and (d) these rules. In the event of any conflict between (b), (c) and (d) above, (d) will prevail over all and (c) will prevail over (b). Copies of (c) and (d) can be obtained from the Tournament Organiser or downloaded from the LMBA’s website:
www.metrobridge.co.uk.
Only paid up members of the LMBA are eligible to play in the Piccadilly Cup.
No player may play in more than one team in a single season.
Matches will be of 24 boards except for the final which will be 32 boards.
Aggregate scoring will be used throughout with Honours not counting.
The Tournament Organiser will notify all teams of the draw and the relevant play by date. The first-named team in the notification is the home team for the first round. The away team must offer the home team four valid dates in accordance with paragraphs 8 and 10 to 14 of the ‘LMBA Regulations for Matches Played Privately’. After each round, the Tournament Organiser will advise winning teams of the relevant play by date for the next round and, also, who is to be the home team.
Master points are awarded by the LMBA according to the scale laid down by the EBU. Players’ names must therefore be written legibly on results cards so that these may be correctly allocated. No master points are awarded in the case of a bye.
Matches will start not later than 7.00 pm without the prior agreement of both Captains.
All venues for matches should be within 5 miles of Charing Cross unless otherwise agreed by the Captains.
