LEDERER MEMORIAL TROPHY 2002

The Lederer Memorial Trophy is an event for invited teams from across the country and abroad and is held each year at the Young Chelsea Bridge Club in London, which sponsors the competition along with LMBA President, Bernard Teltscher – we are most grateful to both for their generosity. The players compete for the substantial first prize of £1000, with £250 for the second placed team and further prizes for the best bid, played and defended hands.

The competition provides terrific spectator value and all who come along are impressed at the way they are able to observe and learn from a host of top bridge stars, either by watching directly at the table or by listening to the expert and entertaining commentary in the Vu-Graph theatre.

The event will be held on Saturday and Sunday 9th - 10th November, as usual at the Young Chelsea Bridge Club. There will be three sessions which will commence at 2.00pm and 8.00pm on the Saturday and 1.00pm on Sunday. The session on Sunday includes a free wine reception for all who are present prior to the prize giving ceremony, which usually starts at around 6.30pm after all the results are known.

For spectators, entry will be free to all members of the Young Chelsea BC, but otherwise the fees will be £6 per session on Saturday, £7.50 per session on Sunday, or £14 for the whole event (half price for students and senior citizens). All entry fees are payable at the door and no pre-booking is necessary, but if anyone has any queries they can contact me using the contact details given below. It is worth noting that there are no parking restrictions in the environments of the Young Chelsea on a Sunday.
